Norfolk and Western
fantastic show at higher ground last night. both bands, northfolk and western and devotchka played great sets.
norfolk and western were much more electric and loud than other times i have seen them - great blend of songwriting, sonic dissonence and instrumentation... i was glad there was no melodica or hand-clapping. (the last four or five bands i have seen had both)
they also covered neil young (heart of gold) about three minutes after i mentioned that adam was playing like him, which rocked.
basically i left the show wanting to be in portland even more than i do on any given day.
there are some more photos on the flickr site... and more to come at some point.

Boy do we keep crossing paths. You weren't the hairy dude with the really nice camera, where you?
Great pics. You've got a great eye.
Let me know if you're going to Jolie Holland, Konono No.1, or Danielson and we'll be sure to meet up.
